Most of the previous iPad Pro rumors have suggested that a larger-sized iPad would need a stylus for a better user experience. And it seems that Apple agrees with that, as well.
During the event, Apple announced the Apple Pencil accessory which can detect position, force and tilt. The device features a lightning connector, allowing users to charge it directly to their iPad. The pen can be used to annotate documents, circling items in documents, and draw shapes on PowerPoint slides.
Apple is inviting developers to make use of the Apple Pencil's capabilities, so chances are we're going to witness new apps in this direction. The Apple Pencil is going to cost $99 and will be available in November.
Another important accessory for the iPad Pro is a new $169 keyboard accessory which is integrating into a cover. The Smart Keyboard uses key domes that Apple first developed for the new MacBook and connects to the iPad Pro using a new connector type.
The Smart Keyboard won't be bundled with the iPad Pro, but will be made available as an optional add-on like like the Smart Covers that Apple has long offered for iPads.
