Text message shut off!!

Hi all,
My wife has a new IPAD 11 which receives text messages.
Problem is, the old IPAD 9 receives them too!!
How do we shut off her old IPAD 9's ability to receive text messages??

Hello Ken - the messaging services on the iPad 9 are likely still activated and iCloud syncing is occurring - below is a googled search on steps to take to deactivate messaging on the older device - are you also having issues with email syncing on both machines? Dave
