Syncing iTunes

I cannot seem to sync my iTunes to my iPad2. It will do contacts, calendar, everything but iTunes. It shows 3 steps and moves nicely through step 1 and then 2, when it gets to 3 it looks like the first 4 or 5 songs sync, but that it hangs on the next. I eventually get a msg saying device timed out. HELP

Reboot your iPad

reboot your computer.

Try a different USB port on your pc

Rebooted the PC, rebooted the iPad, tried each of the USB ports. It continues to appear to be syncing the first 3 or 4 songs, then locks up on one. I have tried deleting that perticular song, but it moved to the next and lock. I cannot get any songs onto my iPad. Any suggestions?
