I am looking to get the black smart cover, but I am worried that it will not hold tight because I have a Bodyguardz rear skin. Does your Cover hold tight with the Zagg skin?

Navy blue leather smart cover. Goes well with the silver finish of the iPad IMO.

Then, I drop the whole thing into a Belkin pleated case. £11 from Amazon and very good value for money. Lined inside to protect the iPad.

Then I got a Switcheasy CoverBuddy which I really liked but I just replaced it with a Speck SmartShell Case because it has a magnetic strip which holds the SmartCover in place when it is folded back. I am really happy with the SmartShell.

Those two ASINs were honest-to-god both selling the former unit, now the latter is selling a thin, skin like cover. I did get a genuine Bear leather cover from them, I'm just confused that Amazon can flip products around like that.

At the price of $1+$5 shipping, this other cover is worth trying out if you're still looking.

I've had my white IPad since March 22 when I lucked into getting one at my local Apple store. I had ordered one online with an accompanying red leather smart cover but settled on an orange poly since the store was out of the red. I clean both sides of the cover every so often with a very damp, clean terrycloth rag. I clean the screen with the edge of the cover folded with the back on the outside - makes a triangle. Nothing on the back. I clean smudges off with an almost dry soft cloth - no scratches.

At home, my IPad sits on granite counter tops where there might be something sticky underneath, on a breakfast table, my nightstand, or it gets dropped in my purse and goes with me everywhere. No damage whatsoever.

I decorate it with myriad versions of orange coordinated wallpaper accompanied by "ooo's" and "ah's" from anyone looking over my shoulder.

But I'm getting a little tired of the poly cover. When I can find a cream leather smart cover and some water resistant protective coating for leather all in one shopping trip, I think I'll make a change.
