We are no stranger to the following rumor, but it's always great to see echoes because it basically means additional corroboration. Intel from channel partners within the Apple food chain revealed some new details of the upcoming iPad 5 and Retina version of the iPad Mini. Both of these devices are expected to be revealed next month, and both are expected to come equipped with Apple's fingerprint scanner technology.

What's interesting about this intel is the indirect way it was reported. DigiTimes doesn't specifically state that the fingerprint technology will be present. They only revealed that the home keys of the new iPad devices will come covered in the same Sapphire glass which is found covering the finger-print sensor on the iPhone 5S. This lead to speculation that the Touch ID sensor will also be included. Here's a quote with the gist of it from DigiTimes,

Apple is expected to extend the use of sapphire glass home keys to its new 9.7-inch iPad and 7.9-inch iPad mini to be launched in October, and possibly further adopt sapphire for making touch screen covers for its new iPhone to be launched in 2014, according to Taiwan-based sapphire makers.

Apple first adopted sapphire to make covers of iPhone 5 cameras and now the material is also used in making covers of iPhone 5S finger print-recognizing home keys, the sources noted.

Of course, it's possible they are simply jumping to conclusions, but the rationale is sound. It makes perfect sense that the next generation iPads will also come with the fancy new tech seen in the iPhone 5S.

Cannot wait to see an updated versions of the iPad Mini Retina. Will Apple add in the current standard wi-fi 802.11 ac? Will an A7 be inside with 4GB RAM? Will it come with an IGZO screen?

Desperate Measures in desperate times ,, also there is legal reason not too if you want security ! It seems if you use a fingerprint only You must open your computers to any authority , however if you have a password + print you can refuse legally until proper papers are served!
