Ring Launches New Neighbors Security App

Video doorbell and security camera company Ring has today announced on its official blog that it is launching a new app called “Neighbors,” which it says is “the new neighbourhood watch.”

Ring reveals that the company was inspired to launch the new standalone Neighbors app by the popularity of the Neighborhoods feature in the main Ring app.

“The Neighbors App gives you real-time crime and safety alerts from your neighbours, the Ring News team and local law enforcement, so we can work together to stop burglaries, prevent package theft and make our communities safer for all. And if you spot something suspicious in your area, you can anonymously post a text, photo or video to keep your community on the lookout.”

Homeowners can use the Neighbors app to create a custom neighbourhood in their local area, so that when someone in the neighborhood shares details about a crime or safety alert, the app will notify you on your iPhone or iPad. You can then choose to share the alert with your family and friends, or help with tips to the police to keep your neighborhood safe.
