9to5 Mac reports that Apple has just dropped the price of its factory refurbished first-generation 16GB Wi-Fi-only iPads in its online store to $299 with free shipping. As 9to5 Mac says, this is $184 below the lowest price that they have seen for a new iPad, and, in fact, the lowest price for any iPad that they have ever seen! Unsurprisingly, 9to5 Mac has updated their report to say that these bargain 16GB iPads have just gone out of stock! They also report that the factory-refurbished first-generation 32GB Wi-Fi-only model is also on sale on the online store for $399, which is $121 lower than the lowest priced new model of the same type. At this rate they may well soon sell out as well, especially with the 16GB models all sold out. The reason why Apple has suddenly decided to do this is not clear, anyone have any ideas?!
