I recently ripped a bunch of CDs to my computer straight to iTunes and tried to sync them to my iPad2. The music is showing on my music player on the iPad but it the text is a light gray instead of the bold black that the others are. The CD music will also not play on my iPad but there are no problems playing it on my computer. I have no problems playing the music from iTunes just the CD music. I am not very technologically savvy and have no idea what to do and how fix this problem, so any help or advice would be much appreciated. Also the CDs include store bought and mixed/burned CDs

Let's see if I can help (all my music in iTunes has come from me putting all my CDs into it ... and they work/play fine on my iPad). Disclaimer: I really don't know what I'm doing, nor do I really understand why you're having troubles. I'll just share what my iTunes says about my music in hopes that the comparison will reveal something to help you...

To start, what format do you have those songs in? In my iTunes, my songs are MP3 files, and iTunes says they are MPEG audio files. I can also play files with the M4A extension (info says they are AAC audio files; low complexity).

To find this out, right click on any of the "problem" songs and then select "Get Info." What I typed above is from the summary page.

So, maybe it's how you put your songs into iTunes? Take a look at them and see what extensions they have and what kind of files they are.

As I said, I don't know much about songs, iTunes and the Music app. But, maybe some of this helps? Or, someone else will come along and amaze us both with their knowledge... :D

Good luck.
