Problem with Flip HD and camera connection

I used the camera connection for the first time and it imported and played photos from SD card without a problem

However when I connected a flip HD video camera to my iPad, it imported the videos, but would not play them.

Can anybody help me with this?

I remember reading that it was not able to import videos through the camera connection kit at all. Maybe my information is wrong.

what format video does it create? its probably an unsupported format.
