Hi everyone,

I am a retired 63 year old, and I love gadgets. Came on here to find out why I could not get Adobe Flash Player, as I
Needed it to access a sporting web site. I was pointed in the direction of Photon. Brilliant, downloaded and got on the site I had been trying to access for the past week, in minutes.

Apple has never supported Flash on it's iOS devices. The only way to view Flash content on an iPad is via a browser such as the one you used, which accesses the web through a remote server which translates Flash content to a form that will play on the iPad.

Here is a forum thread about the situation regarding Flash on iOS devices. http://www.ipadforums.net/new-member-introductions-site-assistance/54704-flash-ipad.html

I have downloaded Photon Flash player for my ipad Air but I keep getting adverts popping up which eventually closes down the streaming site and goes to the app store. Does anyone know how I prevent the adverts from popping up?

Thanks

Unfortunately, that really isn't Photon's fault. There are ad sites/creators that have figured out a way to make these types of ads all over the Internet. And they really are all over the Internet - and you don't even have to click on them!

There are really only two things to do: (1) keep going back to the site after being redirected to the AppStore or (2) never go back to the web site so the ad doesn't have a chance to send you to the store again.

Sorry, but this has become a big deal that we, the consumer, really can't control. All we can do is try to workaround it...

Thanks for your reply, the problem was with a football streaming site I go to on my PC, I have Adblock+ installed on that and and have no problems. I thought if I installed Adblocker on my ipad it would work the same way,but sadly not. I'm sure I can find another streaming site without the popups, but it's a shame no one has come up with an app that would eliminate the popups.

The problem with the iPad is that apps are sandboxed so that an adblocker type of app would not be able to communicate with any other apps.

Flash capabilities are nice to have with Photon, but I was having more problems messing around with it for a few weeks that I just went back to Chrome and dealt with not having to look at Flash Player content. I don't know why modern tablets and phones these days are setup with operating systems that disallow flash (Android KitKat is the same way too with Flash content).
