Photo Download from Ipad

Hi Forum.
I have downloaded photos from my Camera to Ipad 1.
The photos are able to be viewed and deleted using the Photos icon on the Ipad
The photos are recognised as being on the ipad through itunes and "About" on the tablet
Using several third party programs I cannot download the photos to the PC. I have had support through Aiseesoft during the last two months but they cannot figure out the problem. I have also trialled three other programs to no avail.
The photos are from a Sony A55 ( geotagged Images) and I take the SD card out and put it in the Apple connection kit to down load. The Ipad recognises both the photos and the location that they are taken. It is just that I cannot download the photos to the PC. I have used the Ipad as a back up for the photos whilst overseas. There are currently over 5000 photos that I need to down load

If you plug the iPad into the USB port of your computer, you should see a folder appear in 'My Computer'. Open that folder and the images should be there.
