Photo and Video File Sizes on New Ipad

I enjoyed the camera on the Ipad2, until I got the new Ipad. I did a test:

Ipad2 Photo 326 KB

New Ipad Photo 2.2 MB


Ipad2 5 Sec Video 612kbs

New Ipad 5 sec video 645KBS.


Question is why is size of the video files about the same???
