I'm curious to know if anyone has ever spoken to a product manager, or anyone for that matter at Overdrive. This is the people who make the Overdrive Media Console app which most library users are forced to use to read books.
I would like to submit suggestions for improvements to the app - but if you navigate to their web site, the Contact page, it clear that they don't want to hear from the rabble. If you're not a library, or a publisher, they don't want to hear from you.
Since my vision is limited, I use the largest fonts available in the Overdrive app.
They're not large enough - for me. Hence, I'm holding the device up so I can read - not comfortable.
When large fonts are used, the app insists on using large vertical spacing between the lines of text. Although this may be good for some readers, it dramatically reduces how much text will fit on a screen.
Why not provide a line spacing control (that works) ?
Navigation: Try this: reading a tome like Game of Thrones, or worse, the four book set. . . For whatever reason, you've lost your place in the book and need to get reoriented. In a paper book, you'd do it by jumping through the text, reading bits to determine if you'd been there already. Overdrive eliminates this possibility.
A means by which the user could navigate to the next/prev chapter would be great.
Just sayin'.
