Number up from earliest figure of 50 percent
Over 80 percent of the companies in the Fortune 100 list are now either using or testing the iPad, the company has revealed in its Q1 results call. The number indicates a significant and growing trend, as the figure was last pegged at 65 in the summer.
In late July the number was already at 50 percent, despite the fact that the iPad was only launched in early April.
Apple also remarked that the average selling price of the iPad is about $600. The company ended the first quarter with about four to six weeks of tablets in stock, a figure it is said to have anticipated. 7.33 million iPads were sold, a figure up 3 million sequentially over Q4 2010.
