I prefer Netflix, because streaming comes with my DVD rental account. Also depends on where you live and whether you're willing to hide your location, because the same apps aren't available worldwide.

Kay Kay Kay,

Have you streamed movies through Amazon? I was considering dropping netflix for Amazon Prime but I did some quick research and thought i read movies from Amazon's website were not compatible with the iPad.

Can you let me know?

Thanks,
Maggie

My mistake. I tried Amazon Prime streaming on another device and misremembered it as my iPad. You're right about the Prime video streaming not working directly on iPad, because of Flash. There is an iPad app that includes Amazon video on demand, but you have to pay for access separate from Amazon Prime. If you're interested in that app, it's called PlayOn.

With PlayOn, you must download to your PC and stream from there to your iDevices. It offers a bunch of different networks. You can pay a one-time lifetime membership of 80 bucks (sometimes on sale for 60 bucks), or do an annual or monthly membership. (Lots of info available on PlayOn's website.)

I'll correct my initial post on this thread, to avoid misinforming anyone else. Again, sorry about that.

Thanks for the reply. Was hoping that something had changed with Amazon. Oh well, perhaps some day soon. Thanks Kay!
