Old IPAD 9 and new IPAD 11 security code!!

Hi all,
On my wife's old IPAD, it's asking to enter, think it was, a 6 digit code sent to her new IPAD 11 which I did.
I don't even remember what it was for but it asked for it after we logged onto the old 9 with her Apple email and password.

Anyway......how do we stop the old IPAD 9 from asking the new IPAD 11 for this code number? The old 9 is now relegated to the 3 year old nephew to play with when he's here and we don't want any connection between the two.
Thanks for reading!! Ken & Peg

Hi again Ken - before responding, did you follow any of the instructions in my previous post HERE? Sounds like both of the iPads are still signed into iCloud - you need to dissociate them from each other - have you thought of just erasing the old iPad and setting it up as a 'new' device to be used by your relatives? If so, the steps needed are multiple and important to follow so post back your feelings. Dave

Hi Dave,
Yes, I was able to follow the one about the messaging in the beginning.
We would like to just have this old IPAD 9 completely independent from the new IPAD 11.
I mentioned that didn't understand about the "Messages in I Cloud" thing. Do we need to log into I Cloud and do something?? It was the last item in your list, but I got the beginning taken care of.

Hi again Ken - so I assume that you at least got the 'messaging issue' to stop from the directions in my other post. You can follow directions for selling or giving away an old iPad by basically erasing its contents and setting it up as a 'new' device - here are Apple's Guidelines - let us know if you have any questions before starting, if you're uncertain?
