A few weeks ago, I noticed the pad wasn't making some of usual noises; the click when I put the cover down; keyboard clicks; the blip when I plug in the charging cable; the whoosh of a sent email; all the audio in Secret Society HOG.

And yet Youtube, Netflix and UK Radio apps all work perfectly!

Is this solvable?

Welcome to iPad Forums!

If you‘re owning an iPad Air (1st generation), you have a Mute button next to the Volume buttons. If you see the red/orange side, your sounds are muted. Toggle it to the other side to unmute it.

Hope that helps.

Checked that already, but thanks for replying.

PS wouldn't that also mute Netflix etc?

That button mutes ringers and alerts (system sounds), but not Music, ...

In Settings - Sound, is „Change with Buttons“ enabled, and is the volume there set to something else but minimum?

Keep in mind that the side switch (for those iPads that have them) can be set to be either Mute or Rotation Lock. If the switch is set to Rotation Lock, then you have to go to the Control Panel to mute/unmute the iPad.

Is Do Not Disturb enabled? (Settings - Do Not Disturb). If so, turn it off.

Do Not Disturb is only on from 11pm to 7am.

How do I get to Control Panel?
