Charger extension lead

Hi,

I had an extension lead that I plugged in so I could use my iPad a lot easier when it was charging (usually in bed because it wouldn't stretch!)

However, I broke this cable and so bought a similar one. However now when I plug it in to charge I lose all sound - keyboard noises, from Netflix, music etc.

I went into the properties to see if i could change this but had no luck. However, when I tested the alert tone volume the iPad made a noise. The volume control just disappears as soon as I plug this cable in?

Does anyone know why this is and if there is a fix?

It's probably the cable. The fix would likely be to use a different cable. Try the same brand you used before.
BTW, does the stock charging cable work properly?

Yes the stock cable works fine!
