New to ipad, first things to do/download

Hi I'm new to iPads having always stuck with laptops, I'm not a complete newbie to the workings of apple products as I'm an iPhone user.

Could anyone give me some tips and tricks as to what the first things I should consider doing/downloading on the iPad to gain the best experience and enjoyment

I like recommending this app for beginners.

It's an iPad introduction app, with how-to-tips and decent recommendations for common categories of apps. I wouldn't jump in and buy everything they suggest without a bit more research, but it's a good starting point.

Every so often they offer it for Free, and this is one of those times.
