New to Apple

Hi, I just bought the new iPad . This is my first Apple product, other than using an Apple I in school. I've had smart phones since they first came out ( Kyocera mono color). My contract with Verizon is up in May, and I'm considering the iPhone 5. That is, if it is a product by then.
