Hi all,

I just bought the new IPAD3 and am going to give my 2 to my daughter. I dont want to mess things up, so thought I would check with you experts.

She will not use the 3g component, so I either need to transfer it from the ipad it is on to my new one, or cancel the verizon account and start a new account. Any suggestions?

Also, can you transfer apps?

And finally, from an itunes standpoint, do we just chage the user info on the 2 and then add my info to the 3?

Any help is greatly appreciated! I am pretty user friendly, but fix-it ignorant.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

As far as 2 iPads are concerned have a look at this thread
http://www.ipadforums.net/ipad-help/57568-using-two-ipads-one-itunes-account-etc-etc.html
As far as your 3G, I think you can just put the sim in your new iPad, hopefully someone else will know more on this.
Just noticed this was a Verizon account that does not have a sim in the ipad2. I guess you will need to cancel this one.

Not sure what to do about the Verizon thing, but I do know how to transfer all the other stuff.

1. On the iPad 2 go into settings, then iCloud. Enter in YOUR apple Id info at this time. Once that is set up, go into storage and backup, and select backup now. ( If you don't see iCloud in settings, you need to go to settings.general.software update and make sure you have the latest version of ios installed.)
2. If the iPad 3 is already setup, you need to go to settings.general.reset and select reset all settings. NOT RESET ALL DATA. After you have done this the iPad will power off and when is turns back on, it will have you go thought the initial setup again. When you get to a page that has the option to setup as new iPad,do not select this. From that screen you need to tap "restore from iCloud backup". It will have you log in with your apple id( the one you used when creating the backup on the iPad 2) once you have done this, everything will be the same as it was on the iPad 2, and all of your iPad 2 apps will start downloading. If you then want to wipe your iPad 2 for use by your daughter, I would suggest doing a full data reset, and giving her and apple id of her own. Good luck!:D if you have any questions, just ask!

Thanks. Cloud is set up! I was hoping that would be the method but didn't want to start until I had confirmation. Thanks for the links also.

Just to point out that iCloud backup is only suitable of your Internet speed is very fast, and further the backup data size is relatively small amount,

It looks like everything transferred, however, several apps are not loading up. I also tried to use FaceTime but it says I was signed out because my apple I'd or password changed. Sign in again to FaceTime. But, not password or email log in work. Wondering if it is because I haven't deleted the info on my old iPad yet. Going to do that after I call verizontomorrow.Facebook is not loading for some reason, and several of my apps I paid for.
