New member needs help pls re embedded Word docs

Hi can someone please help me?

My boss has an ipad and wants to use it to view documents in meetings to save paper etc etc. He is using something called Docs To Go.

My understanding of ipads is very limited but I think he opens docs as an attachment in an email. Embedded documents do not seem to appear though we can see the document they are embedded into.

Do you think maybe he needs a different app?

Tap and hold the attachment icon (in the e-mail) a little window should pop up to "Open In..." One of the selections should be Docs2Go. Select it and that app will open.

Or, sometimes, if a lot of apps can open a file, you'll see a pop up that'll say "More." Select that and Docs2Go should be one of the things you can select.

now, if the word doc has embedded files, then no, DocsToGo or any of the other word viewers would not be able to open the extra files inside the doc.

There are even issues in Microsoft Word where if the user opening a file doesn't have access to the embedded files, they wont open.

Without more info (access to the files in question) it is really just speculation anyway.
