My husband's iPad goes into the Voice Over mode for the vision impaired on its own.

This has happened to him three times in the past few months, without his having made any changes to the himself. What could be causing this? After a lot of frustation, we've figured out he need to scroll with three fingers to get back into the settings he needs to change, but if it is pointimg to an underlying problem, he wants to deal with it before his extended warranty runs out.

All I can suggest is to make sure that VoiceOver is OFF in Settings > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver. If it is off and it starts up on it's own, then yeah, that probably warrants a trip to the Apple Store.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

This use to happen to me also so I'm wondering if your husband is tapping the home button 3 times and this is taking him to the voice over mode. Have a look in Settings - General - Accessibility - Triple click home, what does he have set up here. Having it set to voice over here actually overrides the Voice Over setting when activated. If this is it you can just turn it off here or choose one of the other settings. Once activated just triple click the home button to turn it off again.
