Long time techie, new to iPad experience

Just picked up a 32GB white air. I've had been using an android tablet for over a year and wanted to see what the apple buzz was all about. I have an 5th gen iPod but that's it for apple products.

Any suggestions for apps to load? I've gotten the basics already (facebook, Spotify, flipboard) but I'm sure I'm missing something...
