I have an Ipad 2. When I try to get into Safari, Email and Settings, it just reverts back to the Home Screen. However, I can click on Apps like Youtube, Iplayer, etc and view content.

Can anyone explain what I must do to reset Safari, Email and Settings to be able to get back in?

Thanks

Hello Lesley. The info you have provided are too short to help figure out what could be causing those named apps to crash at start up.
What version of ios are you using? (Obviously, you can't see it since you can access the setting app) but what about when you plug it into your computer and lunch iTunes? Can you see the ios version in the ipad Tab?
Is the ipad jailbroken? I mean do you see any app of the name of "Cydia" on the home screen or in a folder there?
I can only think about a Jailbroken ios which is not stable and causing those named apps to crash.

Hi Lesley and welcome to the forum. You may have already tried this but if not definitely worth a try as it has often solved problems whenever the iPad seems to play up a bit.
Reset your iPad:
Simultaneously hold down the On/Off and Home buttons until the screen blacks out. Keep holding both until the Apple logo appears and then let both go. Then wait until your wallpaper appears. Restart your iPad.

This does no harm to any data or settings, just tidies up RAM and cache memory.
