Keep video running when screen is turned off?

When the screen goes off, either manually or automatically, whatever video I'm watching stops playing. Is there a way to change it so that it keeps playing even when the screen is off?

Can you tell us what app you are using to play the video? And, I assume you are playing the video to hear music? Is the video on You Tube or another place?

We need to know what your intent is and where you are streaming the video from (if you are). Because yeah, normal ops is to turn off a video when the cover is closed...

For example, the TBS app or the WWE app. I know it sounds crazy, listening to shows without watching them, but that's a whole different kettle of fish.

If playing back videos, you can use nPlayer. It has a setting to allow a video to continue playing during screen lock. Check each app for that option, I'm sure there are others.
