Keep Bluetooth Connection Alive

Greetings all. Does anyone know it there's any way to keep the Bluetooth connection between the iPad and iPhone (used for tethering) from shutting down after a while of inactivity. The MiWi On Demand scheme works very well, but the two iDevices disconnect from each other after some (fairly short) period of inactivity, and I have to get back into the setup and gears, go to General<>Bluetooth<>and reconnect. It's somewhat inconvenient to have to do that every time I want to get back on the net.
