I am an 84-year-old beginner on an Ipad--who just locked myself out by adding "voiceover" AND NOW CAN'T GET INTO THE iPAD AT ALL. It peeps, but just stays black.

With VoiceOver, the iPad will react different than usual. To unlock it, select the Unlock slide, then double tap the screen.
To turn it off, try this:
Tap Settings, then double tap it. Tap General, again double tap it. Use three finger swipe to scroll down to Accessibility. Tap it, double tap it. Tap VoiceOver, double tap it. Tap "On" there, then double tap it to turn it off.
