Well, I just completed my experiment with jail breaking my iPad2 and I was a bit disappointed. My motivation was to be able to use a mouse using BT Stack from Cydia. I think not having a mouse was the the biggest thing missing from iPads and would allow them to function easier with spreadsheet and word processors. The mouse apt is not bad, but does not have the full functionality of a mouse; no track ball or right click button menus. Really no better than using your finger or a stylus. I noticed a few other subtle things about jail breaking: 1) battery drained much more quickly;2) funny things happened with the iPod/music function - when I pressed the icon for a song, another one would play;3) photos disappeared and slides show did not work - just a black screen shows. Nothing major, but for someone familiar with a device that always functioned flawlessly, this was disconcerting and I felt bad messing with software and firmware that had never failed me. Maybe we should leave well enough alone. I restored my device and everything was back to working as it should have.
