A Newbie here wondering about the process for arranging photos in albums downloaded from computer to I pad 3. Please tell me there is a way to delete photos and albums without being hooked up to the originating PC (Which I have since sold). Very frustrating to be unable to manage downloaded albums.

Suggest you load them to an online storage like i.e. Photobucket (they have an app) to have the photos you want to keep backed up.
When you sync photos with another PC the previously added albums will be gone!
You should get youself a camera connection kit and import the photos in future directly to your iPad - then you can arrange them into albums etc.

Photos downloaded from your computer cannot be deleted on the iPad, sorry but you would have to sync your ipad back to your computer to be rid of them.

You could also try another app for your albums, that way you won't have to look at the photos that cannot be deleted....Photo Manager Pro is a great app for this.
