Is there a way to prevent the iPad from sleeping while my app runs?

As the header....

With iPad mounted in car and tethered to iPhone, I am able to us the stock maps as a navigation tool.... how ever, after a period of not taping the screen, it will just go to sleep.... is there a way to keep the screen on until I shut it off.??

Thanks.

go into Settings ->General ->Auto lock and st to never. Not a lot of choices you'll see. I'd change settings back after running your particular app to save battery life.

Maximum is 5 minutes, need the screen on until press button to switch off.

On mine the options for 'Autolock' are '2', '5', '10', '15' and 'Never'.

I have iOS 4.2.1 if that makes a difference.

ok, I found the answer, it has to do with the mail Exchange, which take away the Never for security purposes....

Apple iPad Tablet: iPad auto lock Settings
There is no "Never" option in auto-lock setting?
This do with your Exchange account. If the Exchange server admin has setted it "Never", the option will go away as a security feature.

Thanks.

Theres usually a workaround to most things.
It's just finding them that's the problem.
