Ipad2 Plain text email problem, help please

I am on a mailing list which requires that all emails are sent in plain text.

My emails are being rejected as having Content Type text/html which I thought was not possible from the Ipad?

Is it possible my Gmail account server is changing this content type to html?

How can I ensure that only plain text emails are being sent from my Ipad?
