Ipad sync

I Have An IPad 1 which I sync to my laptop with Windows vista. When I perform a sync are the photos on my iPad loaded onto my laptop computer. I have uploaded several hundred photos from my camera sd card onto my iPad and I have edited them on the iPad. I understand that I cannot transfer these edited photos back from my iPad to a memory card and so I wondered if after syncing, whether they would appear on my laptop so that I could transfer them from my laptop onto a memory card. Hope you can help because I don't fancy doing the edit again on the laptop.

It all depends on how your itunes is set up.
