iPad screens changed

I had my iPad the same way for awhile and then when I updated my apps it added two pages of apps from my iPhone (don't use it anymore once I got my thunderbolt) so they weren't new apps since I switched phones a few months ago. It also changed my "home" apps at the bottom of the screen. Why would it do that?

When you say it updated the apps, do you mean that you went to the native iPad App Store and saw a whole load of apps there that the App Store wanted to update? Or was this 'update' via a sync operation with iTunes?

Also FYI I have the app update in settings turned off that automatically syncs apps purchased elsewhere
