Hi, I was given an ipad for Christmas and have found that there is an email address already entered into the icloud and the "find my ipad" is stuck on. I have tried to contact the email address but there is no response. I have just turned on my ipad for the first time in a few days and the icloud log in keeps popping up every time I touch the screen. I have contacted Apple and they have said without the password to this account there isn't anything I can do. Does anyone know how I can get rid of this parasite as it/he is driving me mad now.
Many thanks

Welcome to iPF!

If you know the former owner, you'll have to contact him so that he'll remove this iPad from his iCloud ID. It's not possible to remove his ID another way. Sorry!

I'm afraid that Apple is correct. Without the password associated with the iCloud account there's no getting rid of the pop up. In addition, if you ever have to restore the iPad you'll never be able to re activate it without that same password. This is known as iCloud activation lock and is designed as an extra level of security in case the device is stolen.

In your case, you were given a second hand iPad for Christmas that had not been properly erased and cleared by the original owner. Can the person who gave the iPad to you contact the original owner to have it removed from his iCloud account?
