iPad 3g in cape verde

Hi

Traveling to cv on business in two weeks. Considering purchase of an iPad 2 with wireless 3G using Verizon. Will it work in cape verde? Alternatively I can bring my wifi only iPad 1, and bring a. Wireless hotspot card. But no ides if this will work either. Does anyone know what works in cape verde?

A Verizon iPad only works in the US and a few other countries. The AT&T version uses GSM and works everywhere else - including the US and Canada.
