iPad 2 Stuck in Recovery Mode After Updating

I was previously given a iPad 2 running on the firmware 5.something (not sure about the full numbers, only sure that it was 5 and over), when i was given it the iPad 2 was already jailbroken and had cydia with other addons from cydia. My dad yesterday decided to "help" me and try to update it to ios 7. When i found out the ipad was stuck in recovery mode, i tried to restore it using itunes (latest version) yesterday but the message "itunes has detected a ipad in recovery mode, you must restore it to use it" kept on popping up during the restore every single 10-20 minutes. I ignored the messages and when i check again in a couple of hours the restoring looks to be have finished but my ipad is still in recovery mode. what should i do? Sorry if this is in the wrong section btw im new to this :D

Try restoring using this tutorial by my fellow moderator, f4780y: http://www.ipadforums.net/jailbreak...lsafe-method-restore-current-version-ios.html

If you follow all the steps exactly as written, you should end up with a stock iPad running the newest iOS. Then, you can re-jail break it if you wish.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Yay! Glad to hear that things got sorted for you. And, thanks for coming back and telling us your problem got resolved. Always nice to hear back - especially the success stories. :)
