I'm playing the flute.
I started learning this instrument when I was 35, I think, as part of a project, and joined the marching band two years later.
I saw this on Flipbook and it said it was free for non-commercial uses. I really l liked the picture - it's Venezia Italia shot with a very wide angle lens.

G'day Dave. Those Italian place names brought back memories. We explored the Tuscany area by car, being based just near a town called Castelnuovo di Garfagnana (actually just outside in an inexpensive but charming small rented villa in a small village called Isola Santa) with day trips to Pisa, Lucca, Florence etc. Venice was a bit too far for a daily excursion so we drove to a small place just outside of Venice (and I just can't remember its name now, but I do remember constantly clanging church bellsHi Bob - that pic brings back some memories - I graduated from medical school in May 1971 and had been married to Susan nearly a year - her parents asked what we wanted for a 'graduation present' - well, I had studied some art history as an undergrad and had never been to Europe, so I suggested (w/o really expecting) a trip to Italy - well, we did a 3-week adventure that started in Rome, then to Naples & Capri, up to Florence, train to Venice, and ending up in Lake Como - flew back home from Milan.
In Venice, we stayed at the Gritti Hotel which has likely been renovated several times over? Great location on the Grand Canal - did all of the usual stuff there - then rented a car to go to Como - kind of scary for me driving the mountain roads around Como and into Switzerland - we both loved the experience and the FOOD! We did our second trip in 1996 to Milan (day trip to Asti) & Bologna (w/ a day trip to Ravenna - fabulous!). Dave

G'day Dave. Those Italian place names brought back memories. We explored the Tuscany area by car, .........Did you visit the small island of Murano at the end of the Grand Canal known for its glass blowing artworks? We had a delightful boat cruise with a visit that included demonstrations of glass blowing and the chance to buy a good range of Murano glass souvenirs.

.Drawn exclusively from the collection of Nancy Olnick and Giorgio Spanu and curated by Venetian-born glass scholar and historian Marino Barovier, the North American tour of the exhibition offers a comprehensive look at works from 1914 to 2002 by the most highly regarded artists and designers from the Murano workshops. Pieces from the early-to mid-1900s by artists including Carlo Scarpa, Thomas Stearns, Paolo Venini and Vittorio Zecchin will be on view along with contemporary works by such artists as Cristiano Bianchin, Laura Diaz de Santillana, Lino Tagliapietra and Giorgio Vigna. This juxtaposition will provide an understanding of the evolution of the art of glassmaking in Murano.
Reflected sunsets in lakes always look good.Today's sunset - taken with my Canon, not edited
