You came very close......gosh, Astro Boy, I haven't thought about him in years......he was a fav of my brothers!

Well done TP!!

Did you see the recent movie remake? I thought it was pretty good. Not really true to the original series, or even the first reboot, but a good story in it's own right.

No, this is the first I've heard about it.

I'm wondering what it would be like. I may just try to find the DVD if it's out and get it for my brother.

This could be a walk down memory lane......thanks TP

Astro Boy (2009) - IMDb

Also, both the original (black and white) and the reboot (color) episodes of Astro Boy are available in iTunes. At least season one. I don't know if there was more than one season. I've got the color version, which is probably what your brother remembers.

Hmm, looks like the original 1963 season is available on Hulu. I don't remember if you can get Hulu in Australia.

I've tried answering this a few times now.....just keeps timing out. Sigh..... Here's hoping!

No Hulu here, nor Netflix for that matter.

My brother doesn't do Apple so no iTunes for him. A DVD would seem the only way.

And gosh, 1963...... It must have been old already by the time we got to see it! ;)

I'm pretty sure I never saw a full episode until I found them in iTunes several years back. I would have been 2 when the first series aired.

Looking at Wikipedia, it appears there were actually three runs. The one I've watched was done in 2003, which would explain why I don't remember seeing it as a youngster. There was also a 1980 version, which I don't see available anywhere; not that I've looked real hard. That would also be just a tad too new for me to have seen it as a child.

I hope you find the movie. Let us know what you think of it if you do.

Every adventure has to have a few lackluster moments. Here are the results of experimenting with too many tools, layers, and not having a plan (nothing to copy).

Anubis at Sunset

It was for the "Egypt" challenge, but I'm not going to bother entering it.

I have my first fan on Sketch Club, who said Anubis at Sunset is better than I think. I looked over his drawings, and he's being 'very' nice. Talented guy. :D

A sad day at the Adelaide Zoo. "Greater", the world's oldest Greater Flamingo in captivity died yesterday at age 83. Tributes flowed from around the world as the Adelaide Zoo's best-loved bird was reported in a number of countries, and with over 300,000 views on Facebook.

He made headlines here in 2008 when four teenage low lives scaled the zoo's walls and took pleasure in bashing him senseless. The defenceless but brave creature gradually improved after losing one eye through that, but then chronic arthritis got the better of him and he now had to be put to sleep. It's reported his good mate "Chile", a Chilean flamingo in his 60’s, is very downhearted about the loss.

For the Sketch Club "Year of the Horse" challenge, I present. . .

Year Of The Raspberry

Started with an old picture I took of a colt with its tongue sticking out. After some slight modifications this was the result. ;)

You know what TP.....I really think you've captured the essence of your colt.

It's all in the eyes! ;)

Here is the original Raspberry Colt.

Hi TP - love the pony pic! NCSue & I got into horse riding about a half dozen years ago (my last experience was as a teenager) - bought helmets & boots and took them along on local car trips where the option to 'rent a horse' was available. After a couple of years, my wife (now we're entering our late 60s and she had a friend of similar age fall off a horse breaking her pelvis) became apprehensive, so we gave up the 'hobby' - donated our helmets to a local establishment that uses horses w/ retarded kids.

SORRY - long story - but below is a pic of us in '09 on a trip to Myrtle Beach (South Carolina coast) - took a ride w/ a guide along the shore - was fun! Dave :)
