That white stuff looks nice. However, in my area, the only place it's acceptable is in the upper compartment of my refrigerator (usually on top of the ice cream). ;)

As far as I'm concerned, anything under 70F/21C is too cold for either man or beast.

But I'm glad some people like it, or else it would get very crowded around here.

Well, the holiday season is upon us and Moravian ginger spice cookies are again available in abundance - thin, crispy, and really spicy! If you cannot eat one, then think ONE DOZEN or more (which I just consumed after dinner tonight) - :)

This area of North Carolina was first settled (of course, not counting the Native Americans) in the 1750s-60s by Moravians coming down the old wagon trail from Pennsylvania - their influences remain a strong part of the Winston-Salem community (short quote below - click the link, if interested). The Old Salem guidebook discusses the Moravian story and the development of the Wachovia tract in North Carolina, which started with Bethabara and Bethania and eventually included Salem and several other outlying settlements. With colorful illustrations and photographs, stories of residents, explanations of individual buildings, and an overview of the museums within Old Salem Museums & Gardens (Source).
