What's new

I'm not sure I'm doing this right...

I purchased my 17 yo son an iPad 2 16 GB WIFY only and we've been trying to get acquainted with all the features and learn about available apps prior to its arrival. According to Apple the earliest we can expect it is the thirteenth. I read the somewhat long and restrictive rules of posting and I'm left wondering what I can ask and unsure what I can say... If I break a rule please tell me before you delete my post so I can learn and correct my evil ways.

Based on family experience with iPhones I see an immediate need to purchas a good (as close to indestructible as possible) case to protect our purchase. I'd like to say which one I'm leaning toward but I don't think that's allowed. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a case to me but as I understand it you can't recommend either. Pleas clarify for me because it seems like I can't get or give specific recommendations.

Mobil Hotspot. I found a company that provides a prepay hotspot for twenty bucks a month and a major online retailer that sells the hardware. If anyone is able to discuss any of this great. Let me know how I did on my first post.

BTW: My name is not Melvin it's Michael.

Hi Melvin...I mean Michael! Welcome to the forum!!

I did a search regarding iPad cases, see below:
iPad cases - Google Search

I have personally opted to put a plastic covering over the back and a screen protector. For the case, I purchased a Velcro envelope pouch from timbuk2, which has high density foam. The interior is plush, which wipes the screen clean when I pull it out. Everybody will have various preferences, so have a look at the various posts others had.

Good luck-hope you guys enjoy your iPad!!

I think you should read the rules again (or perhaps not worry about them so much). There would be no problem with you posting a link to a case your interested in or similarly anybody recommending you one.

See rule 13.1:
13.1. Posting links to products or services by forum members is allowed, as long as it is relevant to the conversation, enhances the discussion within the thread and does not promote your personal web site, domain, service, company, business or another iPad forum. Administrators and moderators reserve the right to delete any inappropriate or excessive links.

So as long as your not trying to push stuff you have a vested interest in, its ok to link/reccomend.
