Love the iPad for the cool apps and the same smart functions I enjoyed with my iPod touch. Hate the iPad because my husband did not get the upgraded iPad 2 and I can't sign up for a data plan
Welcome to the site. And admin will probably be along and give you a quick run down with good stuff to read , but for now I'd just point out that if your phone allows it you can tether your iPad to your phone and use it as a wifi hotspot. If you don't know whether your phone can or how just say and I can tap up a quick tut for you (assuming your phone allows it of course). I hope you have fun with your new iPad (and you will), but just be grateful you got one at all .
Proud owner of a 32GB wifi iPad2 iOS5.
Edit: just remembered. If you and your husband are happy to do so you could even take it back (assuming its in it's 100 day(I think) upgrade time) and give your back to them, pay the extra £100 and get the 3G model. It's up to you.
Thanks Mr. Luke. I will have a go at it myself. Never thought of doing that, and the guy at Rogers basically told me to return my iPad2 and get a better model. A very discouraging response, let me tell you! I will play around and if I can't figure it out, can I ask you later
I'll assumed rogers is the place you bought it from? It's lovely to see companies selling products they believe in...
Well good luck. I'm here if you need me .
Out of interest, what sized iPad to you have? If you do decide to exchange it you may even want to get a larger size depending on what you're going to use it for. I for one am glad I bought the 32Gb rather than the 16GB as I'd never have coped with the smaller size in hindsight.
You can indeed exchange it, but here Australia, it's a 14 day window that you have.

I use a mifi unit to give me a connection. It has a couple of benefits (and probably some downsides but none for me so far), firstly I can connect up to 5 devices so I can have my iPhone think its on a wifi connection when it's really 3G whilst my iPad and if required my MacBook are both connected at the same time. Secondly, if 4G becomes the order of the day then I just change my mifi not my iPad.
Thanks, I will look into it. MrLuke had suggested tethering my phone to my iPad, but I had no luck with that. Looks like there's a little more shopping in my near future
