iCloud Mail Question

On my iPhone4S, I have the option to Trash email messages in my iCloud Mail account. But, on my iPad2 I can only Archive messages in my iCloud Mail account. Somewhere, and I cannot determine where, there must be a setting I can enable to allow me to give my iPad the same functionality as my iPhone for these email messages. Help, please!

That's in Settings - Mails, Contacts, Calendars - the account - Mail - Advanced - Move Discarded Messages to:

Edited: J. A. beat me to it.

Settings -> icloud -> account

Under advanced section choose mail then choose advanced and you can change the default "delete" action to delete or archive under discarded message actions.
