I have a red checkmark showing on my iPad mini (1st generation) that I have an app that needs to be updated, however there are no updates to be made. How do I clear and erase the red checkmark? Thank you.

Not quite sure what you mean by a 'red checkmark' for an update? Is this in the App Store or elsewhere?

I just opened the App Store on my iPad Air 2 and one update was available - see screen capture below - lower right 'update icon' w/ a red circle containing a white number - is this what you are seeing? If so and after you tap on the icon, what happens? Dave :)

Thank you. The red checkmark was shown on the App Store icon on my iPad mini screen showing there was one update to be made and it was also shown on the lower right as per your illustration. Went to Best Buy with my mini and the tech person clicked on settings, iTunes and App Store, then he turned off updates and turned it back on again, and the update notification was gone.
