Hi,

I am not quite sure what you mean with 'character string', maybe my English is too bad.
But if you want to find a specific combination of characters say "water" or "5.000" which are definitely in the sheet, then tap on tools (top right corner) and select "find" (could be a different wording - I use the German version) and key in your search string/term. Works with text and numbers.

Does this make sense to you?

I know. Thanks.

And if Bill was looking for just that then my answer should be ok.

Knut

That is exactly what he was looking for. I realized that I hadn't heard the term "character string" since my days of programming in BASIC, so I thought I'd check the exact word for you. Compound nouns can sometimes be difficult in translation.

Thanks again. Yes, I remember the late eighties when I first came across it. And yes, it was with BASIC.
Oh man, that means I am 30 years older now.

Have a great day and let's hope we could help Bill.
