Hi everyone,

We live in kerikeri New Zealand and, until last week, when we upgraded to IOS 6, we were the proud owners of 2 x iPad 3's

Is there a "For Sale" section on this forum?

Cheers,

Martin

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

I'm afraid there isn't a For Sale Section as we do not allow it within the Forum. I've read your other thread and the problems you're having with Yelp and I see someone has helped you with that. Are you having other troubles as well?

The IPad Forum is a community of members from all walks of life and from all over the world coming together to share our experiences and to help each other learn about this wonderful piece of technology the Ipad. If then you cannot find the answer you are seeking then by all means post your question. There are many friendly and informed members here only too willing to help you.

We also have our own App - It is a very simple app to navigate.

Thank you both for your welcomes.

My concern at the moment is primarily with the maps, and our incorrect business location.

But also, as an example, if I enter, "car tyres" in Google Maps I see 10 businesses in our surrounding area, if I do it in Apple Maps, I see "No Results Found". This really is not good given the number of people, especially those on business, using hand held devices to navigate around.

Users can see Google Maps via a browser, but how many would be bothered? It would be good if Google Maps could produce an app, but will that ever become available from the App Store?

Apple Maps will come good I would hope, but it has taken Google many, many years, and a huge investment to get Google Maps to where they are today.

Google already have many apps in the app store. There is no reason to suppose that Maps will not join them when it's ready.

As far as the inclusion of Google Maps in iOS goes, it's a competitor's product. Apple are doing the best they can, in house. It will improve over time, but right now, it's a new product.

iOS 6 is a very good OS and, apart from Maps, which we already know about, introduces many improvements.

Most people would not expect a new product in 2012 to work like one from 2000.

Fixing the map problems will not be a quick or simple process.

Most people are unhappy with the state of Apple Maps, so are avoiding it and preferring to use Google Maps via browser or another third party app.

Personally I would Google search a business, which, if I requested directions would link to Google Maps over Apple Maps anyway. Most people would be the same I suspect. I don't know anyone who does a search for a business straight on the map itself.
