Hi there also stumbling hoping to learn more just a quick question to all, I have downloaded my music from compete to iPad 2, now I want to select my favorites each to play as selected how on earth do I do that ? Please help.

Go to the music app, click playlist, create new, give it a nice name, then add from your songs to he new playlist.
