Well I'll be!! Would never have thought it....and a Queensland recipe to boot!

My family would think I'm ’off my rocker' if I served that I'm afraid. :O

No way. My Mum wouldn't have had any truck with that & wouldn't have wanted to know how to make it.

Then, it was smørbrød ("open sandwiches") with proper "rubrød"--rye bread brought over by relatives who understood that a Dane can't survive long without it. Covered with as many sorts of cheeses, eggs, herrings & meats, tomatoes, asier, agurkasalat, remoulade etc etc as they will have packed in with the bread.

Plus home-made D.pastries & kiks (a host of decorative little biscuits which were my job to make. Lots were / are vanilla-based). No-one in Denmark makes their own pastries any more when it's so easy to buy the real thing (which are not those frauds that flaunt themselves on the bakery shelves here now)

Oh, and coffee!!!

I like the combo of pork and something sweet -- like glazed ham.

Have any of you guys tried a maple bacon doughnut? It's a maple bar with a strip of bacon on top. To die for.

Thank you Kay! I love food and will always try something within reason. I don't mind faggots and haggis. It's not something I would eat by choice but it's not horrible. Depends on who makes them and yes, I've had Brains faggots and they are nice too. I've eaten black pudding too. Hubby went off it for years when he found out it was pigs blood and oatmeal. He had never seen it made. He eats it now though. As you get older, your taste buds change.

Nope! But I wouldn't say no to it though! It's probably very nice. I love syrup of any type. I love waffles and pancakes too!

For our meal today I have a bacon joint in the pressure cooker, loudly hissing away, plus the extractor over it also hissing away & the timer clicking down.

Can't hear the TV games over all that, & too busy staying upright to see it either. Or hear the radio play on BBC listen-again that I'm half-heartedly trying to follow...

Multi-tasking gone bananas! Wouldn't mind one of those. If we had thought to buy any.

By now, I'm hungry! Good news

Unless it's for a medical reason, you should eat the food that appeals to you. If weight control is the objective, remember the foolproof equation. Energy (calories) in minus energy (burned calories) out, equals 0.
