Folders for storage in iPad

What kind of files? For docs/videos/photos, they are stored within whatever app you use them with. (iOS is not like windows I'm afraid).
I do believe there are apps which simulate USB drives, so that they can create a folder on your iPad to store stuff in, search the app store.

2 ways I'm using to transfer files from my computer to the iPad.
1.) if you are jailbreaked, you could use iFile and transfer files from your computer to your iPad over wifi connection. (Downside here is that I can transfer 1 file at a time)
2.) You can also download USB disk Pro for iPad in the app store and connect it over wifi to your computer and transfer your document into the application.
In both case, you can navigate in the applications almost the way you navigate files in your computer.
