Finding new friends at Facebook

Anyone know how to do this? I typed the name in the Search Bar there, tapped Search and NOTHING HAPPENED
I already have other friends there, but wanted to find someone who just joined

In the Facebook app you have to select everyone when you search. You also may have to check the spelling or give it a little more time.
